This guidance statement was produced by the British Association of Social Workers (BASW), to support social workers and organisations involved in commissioning support for autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their families. 鶹ֱ for Care worked with BASW in the development of this resource as part of their 鶹ֱs Not Hospitals campaign.

The Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University was jointly commissioned by 鶹ֱ for Care and Health Education England to carry out this rapid literature review. It has been produced to inform the work of the commissioning task and finish group and delivery board.
